Welcome to Watkins Elementary! This school is an amazing place for students, parents, community members, teachers and staff to learn, grow, support each other and become the best WE each can be.  

I started teaching in January of 2001. During my time in education, I have been a 5th grade teacher in Plano ISD, a 4th grade teacher in Wylie ISD, worked as the Wylie ISD Educator Quality Coordinator, Assistant Principal at Cox Elementary before being chosen to lead the Wally Watkins Wranglers.  

I believe that learning is the foundation on which the rest of a child's life will be built.  However, learning cannot truly happen if there is not a positive relationship built between the student and teacher.  Wherever the students go or whatever they choose to be when they grow up, they will have to love others and love to learn.  If they can do these things, then my job is complete.

My husband and I live in Wylie with our two boys.  We have 3 beagles at home that round out our family. We love the Texas Rangers, being outdoors and being part of such a wonderful community and school district.  

I began my educational career in Royse City ISD, where I served as a special education paraprofessional for three years and taught 3rd and 4th grade for ten years. I served two years as an assistant principal at Whitt Elementary before joining the Watkins family. It is my privilege to now serve the students, teachers, and families of Watkins Elementary.

My husband, Kevin, and I have been happily married since 1995.  We have two daughters, Kaylee and Kassidy.  In my free time, I love to read, travel, and enjoy time with my family and two dogs.

I believe in the power of relationships and that every child can learn. It is an honor to be part of the Wylie community.

Welcome to Watkins Elementary! I am super excited to be here! I graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and received my Masters in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech.

I started my educational career in Richardson ISD where I taught Kindergarten for five years. In 2016, I move to Wylie ISD and taught Kindergarten for another three years before becoming a Reading Interventionist at Watkins.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve our Watkins Wranglers as an Assistant Principal. I am a firm believer in the fact that building positive relationships makes a huge impact in our students and community. Through these positive relationships, “ALL” students can learn and experience success. 

I am looking forward to an amazing school year with our Wranglers!
